Come to Your Own Rescue.
Nobody is coming.
Read that again. Nobody is coming.
Not another program. Not another diagnosis. Not another expert who’s known your child for forty-five minutes. Not another institution that’s going to love your child more than you do.
We’ve been trained to believe that someone else has the answers. Hand your child over. Fill out the paperwork. Wait your turn. Trust the process.
How’s that working out?
Our children are drowning in a world of experts who diagnose and label the individual to fit them into one size fits all Treatment plans.
Enough.
Talons Out isn’t about building another box to shove kids into. It’s about burning the damn box down.
Your child isn’t broken.
They’re not a checklist. They’re not a diagnosis. They’re not a liability to be managed.
They’re a human being who’s starving for purpose, responsibility, connection, and someone who refuses to give up on them.
That someone is you.
Parents have been convinced they’re powerless. That they need permission. That somebody with more letters behind their name knows their child better than they do.
I don’t buy it.
You’ve got instincts that no institution can teach.
You’ve got love that no system can manufacture.
You’ve got skin in the game because it’s your son. Your daughter. Your family.
So stop waiting for someone else to rescue your house.
Come to your own rescue.
Get your hands dirty.
Build something real.
Feed the animals. Split the wood. Plant the garden. Sit around the fire. Cry. Laugh. Work. Sweat. Show your children what it looks like to fight for a life instead of running from one.
That’s where healing lives.
Not in another waiting room.
Our families were never meant to be outsourced.
Our children were never meant to become files.
We’re done believing we’re helpless.
We’re done handing over our authority.
We’re done pretending one size fits all.
This is a call to every parent who’s lying awake at two in the morning, wondering if their child is going to make it.
Stand up.
Fight differently.
Trust yourself again.
You don’t need to become someone else.
You need to become the parent you already are underneath all the fear.
Nobody is coming.
Good.
Because we’re here.
And we’re coming to our own rescue.
Struggling with substance misuse, technology, and the noise of the modern world, young adults and adolescents are losing the ability to hear themselves. We bring them back. Not to somewhere new — to their natural state. Their original state.
